To sum up this past weekend’s New York Fashion Week adventures, I’ll need to use a few “F” words– Fashion, (duh), Freezing (coldest temps NYC has seen in about 20 years!), Faux Fur (the point at which the first two “F” words meet), and Food (lots of recs coming your way!).
Look 1: All black texture mix and shearling for the Rebecca Minkoff show and after party, and ShopStyle Social House Event:

Shop this exact Rebecca Minkoff clutch, straight from the runway, HERE

Faux Shearling Coat: Zara (Sold out, similar here and here)|Black lace trimmed long sleeved dress: (non maternity! BCBG Max Azria| Combat boots: Zara (sold out, similar here and here)|Suede and leather grey bag: Chloe Faye| Gold choker: Vintage, via Brooklyn Flea Market| Sunnies: Saint Laurent
I wore this look to watch the Rebecca Minkoff show and attend the after party at her Soho Store, where I GOT TO MEET HER! Needless to say this was awesome and she was as sweet and down to earth as I could have hoped for! She patted my bump and asked how my pregnancy was going– she even remembered a time we ran into each other at Barneys!
I love the unexpected mix of pairing retro looking shearling, one of my fave textures, with the sleekness of all black– and the contrast of the lace trimmed dress and combat boots make this look even more interesting for me. Plus, the layers kept me pretty warm. The patchwork suede and leather clutch pictured above was one of my fave pieces that Rebecca debuted at the show– It’s def topping my wishlist right now!
After RM, we hit the ShopStyle Social House event, where bloggers, fashion media, buyers, and designers mixed and mingled over a beauty bar, styling center, drinks and snacks. My fave leather accessories company, Gigi New York even gifted monogram leather crossbody bags to us attendees (obsessed with these!).
Look 2: Faux Fur, Stripes, Rust, and the Magical Overalls for the STyle Fashion Week Just Drew show and Valentine’s Day adventures

Faux Fur: Zara (sold out, similar here and here)|Black overalls: H&M an actual maternity version here)|Striped turtleneck: J. Crew|Rust Suede booties: Aldo |Mixed Print crossbody: Loeffler Randall (old, similar here and here)
Again, on Sunday, temps in the city were negative -5085075048, so I built this look around the navy blue faux fur jacket and these black H&M overalls that magically, somehow, still fit (non maternity! My regular size! Thank god for 2% lycra, right!?) A word about mixing navy and black– ignore your grandma’s old rule about keeping these “frenemy” colors separate: They can be paired in a very chic way, as long as it looks PURPOSEFUL and not accidental like you tried to match them and blindly failed– in this look, the navy in the striped turtleneck tie into the navy in the jacket, and the black overalls work as a solid base for the whole look. The pops of rust in my booties and sunnies pair well with accentuating the navy (in my opinion 🙂 ) I met up with blogger pal Mollie for the JustDrew runway show at Gotham Hall– check out his collection here. Then, it was back to our hotel, The Roxy (formerly the Tribeca Grand), which was AMAZING, to change for Valentine’s Day dinner at Barbuto in this outfit (Look 3):

I just switched out the overalls and turtleneck for this navy pinstriped dress from Forever 21, and braved the cold with bare legs and the same rust booties I wore during the day (thank you Uber drivers!)
Look 4: Casual in a Rust-ic sweater, jeans, Stans, and long grey coat for Dim Sum Brunch:

Rust sweater: Urban Outfitters |Grey menswear coat: Forever 21| Ripped knee maternity jeans: Topshop (non maternity version here)|Sneaks: Adidas Stan Smiths|Rose Gold Clutch: Gigi New York|Beanie: Nordstrom (old, similar here and here)
We stopped in Chinatown for Dimsum at Golden Unicorn (voted best in NYC people– go there, NOW!!!) to close out our NYFW/ Valentine’s Day weekend. This was a few minutes before it started snowing, when stark white Stans and ankle bearing cuffed jeans seemed like a good idea! I kept the rust theme going with my fave comfy oversized sweater, and topped it with some boyish grey accessories– this coat from F21, and my fave grey beanie.
Sidenote: Restaurant and Hotel Recommendations!
Over this NYFW weekend, we ate at:
Mokbar, Chelsea Market (great ramen, dumplings, wings)

Bubby’s Tribeca: (Cozy brunch spot serving all the classics)

Barbuto: Chef Jonathan Waxman’s tasting menu was literally the best thing(s) we ever ate. Pork Paparadelle Ragu, Kale Pecorino salad, and his famous roast chicken were just a few highlights– great date night spot guys!
Golden Unicorn: Voted best Chinese Dim Sum in the city, year after year. I’ve been going here since I was a kid– now I get to bring my little guy to one of my fave spots in the city ❤
The Roxy Hotel: Formerly the Tribeca Grand, The Roxy is a cool corner building on West Broadway where Soho meets Tribeca– super cool jazzy vibes here- def chic and stylish, but minus the pretentious airs some other NYC hotels can have.

Well that’s it you guys! Hope you enjoyed sharing in my Fashion Week escapades– check back for my summary or all the best looks, trends and what should be on your style radar in the near future.
xo, ❤
