Plaid Blazer | Plaid pants w stripe (Zara, similar here and here) | Gucci mules (Similar ones for less that I LOVE!) | Chanel bag| Heart Earrings

…and for my final trick! – Part 3 of this season’s Fashion week recap…I wore the look above to the All Comes From Nothing show on Wednesday morning— really loving a plaid suit for the upcoming seasons.  This one is actually two different pieces, not a matching set; just because I liked how each piece fit. I paired the “suit” with a pop of red and yellow, two of this season’s biggest colors – plus a little nod to Valentine’s Day with my heart earrings!

All Comes From Nothing:

E3C4D344-7021-4E60-A9DA-109D8043DCC67E4E38F3-6566-4E98-AFBD-3B36957F57CF4C1B944F-CC00-42F0-A9D6-9C055F2AEEBA071D52B6-8DF0-4145-A9A6-2963FFE0E943832DF136-D6DD-4301-B527-37A16D65C9BB19B09AEC-53E2-49A1-9AD0-006EF12A0C0A18D2E85D-0A44-4661-B231-5511A159506CFB379F6A-2483-4057-BCF8-4292E0755CEA

What to take note of:

1. Metallics for day, mixed with casual/ sporty pieces- probably one of my fave trends to wear for day!

2. Puffer coats (and jackets and coats in general) as part of the whole look— buy one that’s less utilitarian, more fashion forward!

3. Cropped flared pants- these seem more intimidating to wear than they actually are- and they’re a nice change from all skinny everything, and even the straight legs that have become ubiquitous on the fashion scene.

4. Rich, saturated colors, especially red (again!) and that amazing coppery- rust color I’ve been obsessed with!

… and for my last look…

I changed my outfit at the very last minute for Leanne Marshall… I was originally going to style the gold dress with the colorful striped sweater over it (see below) , but decided to go all gold (with sneaks) at the last possible second lol…

Gold aviator jacket | gold column dress (old Zara, similar here) | sneaks

This gold slit column dress is actually old Zara, from my baby shower! It’s  non maternity, and made from a stretchy material, which I why I was able to wear it while pregnant and here, while not!

Leanne Marshall:

3BA7E9D0-1E82-4247-9506-7348CB426452

What to take note of:

1. Monochromatic looks; or varying shades of the same color worn together (the gold and coppery ones were SOOOO good!)

2. Interesting cut outs for formal wear- Marshall showed lots of fluid shapes with bold cutouts giving a modern effect to classic pieces

3. Rich, bold colors like yellow (huge on all runways), coppery rust (yes AGAIN!), and shades of teal and blue

4. Unexpected layering for formal wear— loved how Marshall showed usually jackets over dresses, lace long sleeves blouses under strapless dresses and sweatshirt tops over skirts!

So that’s it you guys! Thanks for following all this season at Fashion Week— look for a new post soon on my fave NYC hotels and places to eat, since it seems like a lot of you had questions about that through my instastories!

En Route to Sally Lapointe on Tuesday

Outfit details: gold aviator jacket | vintage Star Wars tee | vinyl cropped pants | white mules | Golden Goose sneaks

I was beyond excited to attend the Sally Lapointe show this season— she is one of my DREAM designers, a favorite to say the least! It was so hard to pick my highlights from the show because literally every single look was incredible. Here are the looks that represent the overall feel and trends of the show:

E629A27E-8C87-432C-926C-B73A91D50453711817A0-C1A0-41D4-8954-94D31E43522F8039266C-B402-45E5-A54E-F2B333ADC7F0550D0929-2B95-44A5-B775-4A934C74AC88BB487B8E-A438-4A7D-A45D-EBC00CCD8808BB26F64C-AC5E-42DF-960A-DE81229C8B328443A6ED-0DD1-432C-8016-C05FFE3283554901E4A2-8916-47DE-BFC5-C1BBE8BB8C90

What to take note of:

1. Monochromatic looks rule: almost every look that Sally Lapointe sent down the runway was head to toe one color, or varying shades of the same hue- but in different textures, which was what made each look so eye catching.

2. Juxtaposition of materials- Sweaters paired with sequins, leathers, vinyls and furs- it was all so luxe yet simple.

3. RED, rust, copper, grey and metallics: these colors are understated yet rich- I cannot wait to fill my closet with these colors ASAP!

4. Midi slit skirts and baggy paper bag waist pants— both look great with oversized sweaters and fur jackets!

… and that’s it for part 2! Coverage from my last day will be up soon so be sure to check back!

First Look: Flag Print Sweatshirt | light wash straight leg jeans | red booties (similar here and here) | Gucci bag | Ray Ban sunnies

Hi guys! Finally got around to my NYFW write ups— this time I decided to break up my coverage into three posts, each covering a different day that I went to shows (honestly because it’ll be less overwhelming for both of us!)

Saturday, February 10th

I wore the look above to my first show of the season, Dan Liu:

B917756A-CC8B-49F2-8DDA-57574C9343731D70A3C4-84BF-4E1A-B657-7F0FA1669DE6BC52A3BB-D583-4A89-BCD7-529E1BDA6158B83CC561-1978-4F42-BDF2-2BD1EC4A180689DD5494-3DD7-487D-8FB7-1F3E48EE7BD97913B876-942C-4357-960F-95893787FD7D

What to take note of:

1. Sophisticated pink: I’m not normally into this girly hue, but I love how Dan Liu used pink in unexpected silhouettes and styled the pieces in surprising ways

2. Puffer coats are still going strong- store yours now for next fall or buy one in an unexpected color, pattern or texture

3. Mix lace with more masculine textures like tweed and leather

CF2981BD-7E3F-4DEA-BC9B-F9AD8B53F5596A0F1F0F-3604-4E0D-80CD-C02AE2BD400BA5C13793-790E-4188-BEA5-2043E63D3075

Second look: Metallic blazer | black skinnies | red suede mules (here and here) | New York hoodie |faux fur bag

When I posted this look to Instagram, I said that it made me feel the most “me” — a little tomboy, a little glam at the same time. I wore this look for afternoon shows on Saturday, for Tao Ray Wang, Son Jung Wan, and Yuna Yang.

Tao Ray Wang:

8692DC35-8A3B-4DB4-B669-7EB8E4D47BB0848B20C9-FF25-423A-BE0C-6B0CA4F9A957AE8348D2-48BF-4DD1-BD29-82E1889551D495293969-6DF5-413A-A915-79CAEE8E3BBFD3B521E0-0671-4708-A16C-B7448F03CA03816ED730-EA91-4C72-A4A5-7DF9144C0B87

What to take note of:

1. Suiting: this trend is just taking off and I couldn’t be more excited. Love how she did the perfect masculine- feminine balance in her pieces- mixing prints like pinstripes with other colors and textures!

2. Red, red, RED: if you haven’t caught on yet, red is THE fashionable color to wear right now: bold, rich and striking in simple yet luxe silhouettes.

3. Strong shoulders: note how Wang did a slightly 80s reminiscent version of a square intense shoulder… obsessed!

Son Jung Wan:

EBA4A409-C05E-48A1-9B0B-F782098A78595BEE1719-2D37-4043-931A-5A45702BA01766543856-2E77-4DA7-A8E6-CBEDB04E0CB019B8FDD3-11FF-4BD9-91AE-A227917AB3B83332E6EB-68F1-4BF7-B89C-5A333884D5EC

What to take note of:

1. Flared sleeves and pants: with cool twists like patterns, inserts and detailing- a refreshing change from skinny and straight legs

2. Print mixing/ texture mixing: you guys know I LIVE for a good mix of textures- naturally I’m obsessing over Son Jung Wan’s magical ways as shown in the looks above

3. Metallics were huge, not just in Wan’s show, but across the board. Her silver looks were just breathtaking.

Yuna Yang:

097EBC47-62DD-446B-94A0-2A1C73FCCF4D22CDBA62-B538-46D8-9322-A7FD4FBA7AEEE46E0105-A0B6-4E3F-AED0-961133C29DA101295C9D-2CD2-437F-A1BF-056D87661594

Yung Yang will always be one of my fave shows to attend; she picks the coolest, most unexpected locations that just ooze vintage New York vibes. Her clothing is the perfect mix of girly and tomboy (!!!) and she is just the sweetest- showgoers always leave with a scented candle that reflects the show’s theme that season!

What to take note of:

1. Sporty stripes : the stripes that graced all your fave 90s pieces are back in a big way— love how she used them to trim tops, necklines and sleeves!

2. Leather and lace: the ultimate juxtaposition in my book- nothing says edgy chic like these two together!

3. Skirts with interesting details, hemlines and textures: I’ve always loved a good mini, and Yuna yang’s asymmetrical midi-ish ones are sooooo good.

So that’s a wrap on part 1! Stay tuned for the next two installments- let me know in the comments, here or on insta, if you’re into my trend breakdowns!

xo, ❤

Mix Musts: February

February is actually one of my fave months— it’s short, so it’s  like a gateway to spring (ish); I have a week off from work(!), and there’s Fashion week and Valentine’s Day as well so… a lot packed into a little month!

Style wise, most of us are pretty much over our winter wardrobes, and are needing a few last pieces to mix in and stretch what we already have on rotation before spring comes— that’s where this month’s Mix Musts come in:
