1. Brunch with my oldest girlfriends:
EAT Gastropub opened up in Oceanside, NY recently, and we’ve been dying to try it out…and it did not disappoint! A few Moscow Mules, Prosecco Mimosas, and other creatively-named-pretty-drinks-whose-names-I-can’t-remember later, and we were happy as could be. If you live in New York or Long Island, you def have to to try it out. With indoor and outdoor seating, an awesome cocktail menu, and the best Huevos Rancheros around, it is a must for weekend brunch!
2. New Mini-Bar Additions:
Can you spot the gold and sparkly glasses on top of my mini-bar? They are beyond adorable and say “cheers” and “pop”, a sweet gift from one of my best friends (obviously, she knows my gold obsession!) They fit in perfectly with my decor. This at home bar is pretty easy to copy– the mirrored chest is from Home Goods, and is perfect for storing extra glassware, bottles, and bar accessories. The wine rack is a complete DIY for under $25– shelves were $10 each from IKEA, the metal wine glass holders $1 each (also from IKEA), and gold spray paint was a few bucks from Home Depot– minimal effort, and voila! A “custom” at home bar!
3. 30 (ok, 32), Going on 13:
Even though this isn’t fashion or style related, I had to include this moment from this week, because it’s totally impossible to play a faculty softball game with the BEST teacher friends you could ask for and NOT smile and be happy! How cute are our outfits!?
4. J.Crew Ankle Tie Tassel Sandals:
You might remember these from the last weekly round-up, when I listed them as an item I was currently coveting…well, here they are, live and in action! They are everything I hoped they’d be and more…the color and texture are on point for summer, they’re super comfortable, and add more interest and dimension to an outfit than a pair of plain old flip flops. Linked here to buy, as well as the Wildfox sunnies!
5. My favorite quiet spot in the house:
There’s nothing like a corner to make you feel safe and cozy, right? This reading chair is one of my favorite spots in my house. The gallery wall is another one of my DIY projects that I’m pretty proud of– I gathered up old mismatched picture frames, spray painted them gold and white to match my decor, and chose new pictures for them. Super easy and a really creative and personal way to decorate an empty wall! (Lamp, pillow, throw are all from HomeGoods; chair is Macy’s).
Hope you guys are enjoying your weekend!
xo,
Christine
