Grey Wool Coat: Forever 21 |Fuzzy Funnelneck sweater: Zara (old, similar here and here)|Faux Leather leggings: Nordstrom BP| Shearling Booties: Zara (sold out, similar here and here|Earmuffs: Burberry (discontinued, but cutie options here, here, and here!) | Bag: Gucci Soho Disco

One of my go-to outfits for frigid cold temps is a fuzzy sweater, leather or faux leather leggings, and a textured bootie.  This past weekend, Tim and I finally got around to a marathon baby-registry session, after running a couple different errands and grabbing some steamy ramen in the city.  This outfit was perfect for the day’s events– chic, casual, and comfy– but most of all super warm and toasty for a day that the temps didn’t climb past 28 degrees!  You guys know I’m all about texture mixing, especially with a pretty neutral or basic color palette like black and grey, as I wore here.  The sleekness of the “leather” leggings plays nicely off of the fuzziness of this funnel neck sweater that I got a few years ago from Zara– these two textures are a match made in heaven if you ask me! **Quick sidenote about the leggings, for any preggo mamas to be reading this– these have an elastic waistband, and are not “maternity” leggings– I just sized up in the Nordstrom BP line from a small to a medium, and they were super comfy all day; pulled right on up over my 6 month bump!**

The longline menswear inspired coat was a recent score from cheapie fave Forever 21 at under $60– and the length really keeps the cold draft out.  The booties (calling them my “grown up Uggs” ) are super comfy, and have a kind of sneaker-inspired sole that keeps them a little more sophisticated and sporty than the ubiquitous “basic girl” originals (although Uggs will always have a special place in my heart and closet!).  Lastly, if your’re not a “hat person”– I love beanies on other people, but they just make my hair too flat and staticky– earmuffs are the way to go! These Burberry muffs were a gift from Tim from years back– they actually don’t make them anymore, but there are lots of cute options out there that will keep your head and ears toasty while keeping your ‘do in place! I linked a few faves above for you guys!  Try this look the next time the temps drop drastically– it’s super easy to pull together, since you probably own these pieces already, or can find ’em pretty much anywhere– it’s all in the [texture] mix!

xo, ❤

Christine
