You know your husband is a keeper when he spends Valentine’s Day with you at the Tibi show for New York Fashion Week.  This was my very first time at a NYFW show, and the experience couldn’t have been any more perfect; also, I wouldn’t have picked any show other than Amy Smilovic’s Tibi to be my first.  Not only is Tibi based in New York City, but the line always sets the tone, in my opinion, for what real {fashion} girls will be coveting and wearing.  Smilovic’s clothes are always beautiful and directional, but also extremely wearable and accessible– there’s an ease and chicness to her creations that is so modern and fresh, yet classic.  And this show, for next Fall 2015, was no exception.  The best part of the looks I saw (in person! eeeek!) was that there were so many things we could wear NOW, this spring, and of course into next fall.  Almost every piece that came down the runway could be transitioned from season to season, which I think was just genius.

There are a few key trends that I took notice of at Tibi that we can start wearing now, especially with Spring right around the corner:

1) Bare shoulders & off the shoulder tops: a nice change from the ubiquitous turtleneck trend this fall, and a welcomed departure from the plunging neckline.

2) Culottes: not the cheesy, flimsy ones we wore in the early 2000s, but a much more tailored, structured, purposeful silhouette.

3) Monochromatic looks: Head to toe mint green, lavender and grey…easy to put together, and super chic.

4) Pastels: Less your grandma’s dusty rose curtains and childhood Easter outfit, more saturated, candy-colored hues best offset by sharp, architectural accessories and different layers of texture.

5) Cozy, oversized sweaters: We need not be asked twice to buy more of these.

6) Wrap skirts & skirts with slits: a new way to wear my all time favorite combo- the skirt and oversized sweater…demure/boyfriend look on top/ party on the bottom!

Tomorrow I’m back in the city for more NYFW fun…final round-up of trends and highlights to come soon!

xo,

Christine

De detenerlos, los vamos a detener”, afirmó Pascual, al tiempo que señaló que la cifra del fraude está entre los 50.000 y 150.000 pesos.
