Grey body con dress: Forever 21 | Navy faux fur jacket: Zara |White and gold capped sneaks: Aldo | Aviators: Ray Ban |Bag: Chloe
I wore this look (60 degree Decembers in New York call for bare legs as long as possible!) to my 20 week ultrasound check up this past week–I knew I wanted to wear this Zara faux fur jacket, so I kept the rest of the look fairly simple with no frills or patterns– this grey simple form fitting (bump showing!) dress from Forever 21 with my fave white sneaks and a ponytail.  I love the kind of glam rocker vibe of the jacket contrasted with the simple tomboyish feel of the rest of the pieces, and can’t wait to wear this jacket with SO many other looks this winter. Another one of my fave ways to wear faux fur is over distressed jeans and a vintagey looking tee– and surprisingly, I RARELY wear a jacket like this over fancy stuff like a cocktail dress — I guess I tend to gravitate a little more to the unexpected.  I rounded up a few other black/navy faux fur jackets similar to mine (all my exact pieces are shoppable above) along with other similar items for you to create a look like the one above!
Have a great week!

Forest Green velvet high neck dress: Zara | Plaid heels: J. Crew (old, but similar options here, here, and here) | Metallic clutch: J. Crew (sold out, similar RM version here)

This forest green velvety dress from Zara is the first dress that I tried on in which I could REALLY see my bump for the first time! It’s actually not a maternity dress, not even in a larger size (its a Zara TRF Medium) than normal.  For now, it seems like I can get away with (in dresses at least) stretchy, body-conscious dresses in forgiving materials– which is great news for me, in that I can keep shopping at my fave spots (Jeans right now are a whole other story lol…it seems like I went from la-dee-da, normal jeans– even at 18 weeks– and when I hit the 20 week mark, BAM! My old standby jeans are just not cutting it anymore.  More to come in another post soon, dedicated to maternity jeans!)

Anyway, this dress is one of a few “holiday-ish” ones that I picked up recently, that will take me through the next few weeks and even beyond.  I wore this look this past weekend to the first round of Christmas with Tim’s family. The plaid and studded J.Crew heels (old, similar options linked above) were the perfect edgy Christmas touch to this outfit and the metallic clutch, also from J. Crew, kept things festive.  This dress would look great on mamas-to-be, and not preggers girls as well…I can’t wait to sport it post-holiday season with, you guessed it, sporty sneaks and textured loafers to school.  Shop the look above through the links!

Happy Holidays guys!

Mix Must: Striped Body-Con High Neck Dress

Striped Mock Neck Body Con dress: Zara (ONLY $13!!!!!!!!!!!!!)| White sneaks:
Aldo | Tan Suede Jacket: Forever 21 | Grey Suede and Leather bag: Chloe
File this dress under best jackpot find recently– at only $13, this Zara striped number is at the top of my list of things I want to wear right now.  I’m loving anything high neck, mock neck, turtleneck-y right now– a refreshing and sophisticated change from years of low cut everything– and my newly sprouted baby bump (19 weeks !) is inspiring me to show it off in anything form fitting.  For any petite preggos like me, wearing anything too baggy or tent-like at this point (and I’ve been know to love oversized boyish cuts ) runs the risk of making me look muy grande all over.
I styled this look with crisp white sneaks (don’t think your old dad-like New Balances or running sneaks will do the trick here– the key to sneaks with a dress is that they are clean, white preferably and simple in design) for a boyish, athleisure-ish vibe and my other fave cheapie score, this tan suede Forever 21 jacket to pull the look together.  Overall, part 90s (stripes, even with a hint of glitter thread!!!), part 70s, kinda tomboyish, a little preggo– 100% me.
I’ve rounded up a few similar high neck body con dress picks for you guys– they’re great for day to night, work to drinks and dinner, and are great for layering under blazers, jackets, and sweaters. Pair a dress like this with ankle booties (making sure there are a few inches of skin between the hem of the dress and the top of the bootie!), sneaks like I did here, loafers or a funky lace up heel.
Have a great week!
