My Six Picks: White Booties

I just picked up this pair of crisp white booties from the Zara sale, and while sadly, they’re sold out, I’ve compiled six of the best pairs of white booties out there right now, in varying price ranges.  White booties are simple, yet statement making– there’s something about a stark, clean white shoe that really punctuates a look.  Gone are the days of white shoes being associated with nurses and church-going six year olds– Celine has totally made white shoes and booties the coolest new addition to an outfit.  I’ll be wearing mine with distressed skinnies and sweaters, with boyish tees and slipdresses or a mini …and come Spring, these guys won’t be going anywhere. I wore this look (60 degree Decembers in New York call for bare legs as long as possible!) to my 20 week ultrasound check up this past week–I knew I wanted to wear this Zara faux fur jacket, so I kept the rest of the look fairly simple with no frills or patterns– this grey simple form fitting (bump showing!) dress from Forever 21 with my fave white sneaks and a ponytail.  I love the kind of glam rocker vibe of the jacket contrasted with the simple tomboyish feel of the rest of the pieces, and can’t wait to wear this jacket with SO many other looks this winter. Another one of my fave ways to wear faux fur is over distressed jeans and a vintagey looking tee– and surprisingly, I RARELY wear a jacket like this over fancy stuff like a cocktail dress — I guess I tend to gravitate a little more to the unexpected.  I rounded up a few other black/navy faux fur jackets similar to mine (all my exact pieces are shoppable above) along with other similar items for you to create a look like the one above!

Look: Moto Jacket + Moody Dress + Booties

One of my fave modern classic pairings for Fall is a dark, moody, sometimes floral dress paired with a black leather moto jacket and pointed toe booties.  It’s really the only time of year we can get away with comfortably pairing these pieces– and it is def one of my go-to looks.  I’m pretty sure all of you guys have some version of each of these pieces already in your closet–it’s just a matter of pairing them all together.  For instance, I’ve worn this dress maaannyyyy times before; its a staple in my wardrobe– its the Urban Outfitters “witchy t-shirt dress”, and it comes in at least 5 different colors and patterns, this dark moody floral being my fave for fall.  I topped this look off with a chunky, silver, chain-mail style necklace from Baublebar(sold out, similar here), pointed toe grey booties from Tibi, and a few of my everyday gold bangles (love mixing metals!)

I’ve scouted a few similar options as far as moody fall dresses, the perfect black moto jacket (mine worn above is Mango from a few seasons ago), and pointed toe booties at varying price points!
