Look(s): Home Stretch Maternity Outfits

So this week marks 38 weeks…less than two weeks to go before Nolan’s big debut! I’ve pretty much given up on shopping for new clothes at this point, and challenging myself to mixing and remixing stuff I already have…and since its officially bare leg weather, this means my outfits are pretty much consisting of a stretchy dress, sneaks or booties, topped with a fun jacket and accessories…

Look 1: As PINK as it gets for me:

Dress: H&M (non maternity) | Blush Bomber: Forever 21(sold out, but pretty identical one here) | Sneakers: Adidas Originals

Not one for anything pink, girly, or overly sweet, the fact that “blush” is everywhere this season makes me super excited– its like a toned-down, less saccharine-y version of pink– way more flattering and sophisticated in my opinion! I paired this striped body con dress with my fave rusty-blush silk bomber — currently cannot get enough of this style jacket!

Look 2: New Sunnies & Stripes

Striped Dress: Zara (similar ones here and here) |Leather moto jacket: Mango and this really affordable faux version here | Sneakers: Adidas Stan Smiths  | Aviators: Celine | Bag: Saint Laurent Betty

As I’ve stated 40853409 times, when your clothing options become limited, you tend to start expanding the old accessories collection. It’s just what happens. Every spring, I save up for a new pair of sunnies (or two)– this time, I went for these gold trimmed classic aviators from Celine.  Obsessed already. I paired them with this striped non-maternity dress from Zara, similar options available above for you guys, and my go-to moto and white kicks.

Look 3: Denim Shirtdress & Booties

Chambray Shirtdress: Zara (similar options in non-maternity here, here and here) | Rust booties: Aldo (similar ones I like here)| Bag: Chloe Faye| Sunnies: Dior Abstract | Moto jacket: same as Look 2

I wore this last outfit for our final sonogram…I picked up this super versatile chambray shirt dress from Zara, as I can def see myself wearing it in lots of different ways after Nolan’s birth.  I added my fave rust colored pointed toe booties and you guessed it, the old moto jacket to top it off.

According to the sonogram technician, Nolan is in perfect tucked and ready to go position to exit! He was so tightly cramped in there at 6lbs, 4 ounces (already!!! eeeeekkkkk!!!) that we couldn’t get any good pics of him to take home!

Stay tuned for a full tour of his nursery– the final pieces just came together in the past few days, so I’ll be posting ’em all real soon!

Have a great week guys!

Printed flowy dress: Urban OUtfitters | Suede Jacket: Forever 21 (last season, but similar ones here and here) | Lace up heels: Zara (last season, but I love these, these, these and these!) | Bag: Chloe faye

The weather finally cooperated this Friday, and I finally busted out my good old Zara lace up heels and this springy dress from Urban Outfitters!  You guys might remember that I have this same dress in a few different colors and prints– it is seriously the most comfortable, flattering, go with everything, go everyWHERE dress! So when it was restocked this season in all new colors and patterns, of course I picked up this 70s-ish paisley print.

Sidenote- I CANNOT WAIT TO WEAR PANTS/JEANS AGAIN!!!!!!

My favorite thing about fashion in how it allows you to experiment, change things up and hit refresh every day– and the fact that maternity jeans, for the most part, SUCK, plus the fact that I’m three weeks away from giving Nolan an eviction notice– means its straight dresses and leggings till the end. meh.

Needless to say, I’ve really built quite the jacket, shoe and bag collection over the course of these past 9 months!

Anyway, preggers or not, you guys seriously need to scoop up this dress– I promise its as flattering, fun, and easy on a flat stomach as it is on my about-to-burst-bump!

Mix Must for Spring: Silk Bomber Jacket

If you guys buy one jacket for Spring, make it a bomber– preferably silk (because its lightweight and perfect for layering, and the shiny texture adds interest to any look), extra points if it has cool details like embroidery, a pattern, zips or in an unexpected color!  Right now, I’m wearing them over dresses, with sneaks and booties, mostly because I’m kinda done with jeans/pants at this point (3 more weeks to go with this pregnancy!!!), but also because you guys know I love an ironic contrast between something girly and something tomboyish. Come cool nights in summer and into next fall, I’ll totally be sporting these with ripped jeans, leather leggings and over denim cutoffs in warmer weather.  I have three right now– unfortunately they’re all sold out at the moment (bummer)– a blush pink silky one and classic black and white sporty version, both from Forever21, and a navy and gold embroidered one from H&M.  I’ve linked lots of my fave options below in various price ranges– happy shopping!

Two piece layered dress: Topshop via Nordstrom | Denim Jacket: Topshop |Mirrored sunnies: Wildfox Couture |Sneakers: Adidas via ASOS |Choker: Forever 21 |Black leather bag: Saint Laurent

I’ve heard the “fashion advice” that “if you wore it the first time it was IN, you should not be wearing it when it comes ‘back'”.  Well.  I say, some rules, especially when it comes to fashion and personal style, are made to be broken.

One of my favorite “styling tricks” from oh, say, 4th -7th grade, was to layer a skinny, spaghetti strap dress or tank over a “baby tee”– my mom was also fully supportive of this trend, because in her words, “spaghetti straps look trashy on their own” (thanks mom!).  So imagine my delight when I came across this (again, non-maternity, but is stretchy enough to make it over my 8 month bump) awesome 90s inspired dress by Topshop at Nordstrom! It’s my current fave length– midi– and is plain and simple on its own, but begs to be dressed up with a denim jacket like I did here, or a moto or a fur or a silk bomber (all future topper options!) and is totally perfect with these Adidas shelltops, another 90s throwback.  I added two chokers– a black cord one and a gold clasp one– and mirrored sunnies to keep things current.  It turned out to be one of my favorite looks to date!

All of my exact pieces are shop-able and linked above– head on over now!
