Last weekend I had the pleasure of working with one of my favorite brands, Madewell, to style some looks from the fall collection, help shoppers put together outfits, and make my Fall picks (super hard– literally loved everything!) at their store located in the Walt Whitman Mall on Long Island. They even gave an extra special discount to any of my fellow teachers who came in to shop with me that day! Drinks, snacks, shopping and styling (and taking 948404 pics along the way of course!) — what could be better on a Saturday afternoon at the end of summer?
The fall collection is full of all those perfect fall shades– rust and mustard being two of my absolute faves. Madewell is always my go-to for sweaters in the fall and winter; they’re super well-made (haha get it?!) and always have the perfect slouchy-femme look. Madewell is also a fave spot of mine to score overalls, both short and long, again, because of quality, fit and the modern-vintage wash. This was the first time I actually tried on and purchased a pair of jeans from Madewell– being a petite 5’2, it can be hard to find jeans that fit– but their 9″ rise black ripped skinnies FIT PERFECTLY and even had a raw hem that I can cuff or even trim myself to show off shoes. Below, shop my exact look, plus my picks from the fall collection– already purchased the jeans, suede heels, overalls and mustard sweater!

During the warm spring and hot summer months, it’s easy to get stuck in a same old, same old rut of shorts, tank, flip flops (no shame in your game sporting this around the house or out once in awhile!)– but I try and challenge myself to creating looks out from mixing up interesting pieces. If you take a look at the items above, I’ve paired them up (tops, bottoms, shoes), but really, I’d pretty much wear ANY of the items together! Use this guide for a “what pieces to pick up for summer” starting point– I promise you, you’ll find yourself mixing and remixing these pieces on lots of sunny days ahead!
Shop below, some of my FAVE summer pairings that will be on heavy repeat for the next few months– all items $100 or less!
One of my fave modern classic pairings for Fall is a dark, moody, sometimes floral dress paired with a black leather moto jacket and pointed toe booties. It’s really the only time of year we can get away with comfortably pairing these pieces– and it is def one of my go-to looks. I’m pretty sure all of you guys have some version of each of these pieces already in your closet–it’s just a matter of pairing them all together. For instance, I’ve worn this dress maaannyyyy times before; its a staple in my wardrobe– its the Urban Outfitters “witchy t-shirt dress”
, and it comes in at least 5 different colors and patterns, this dark moody floral being my fave for fall. I topped this look off with a chunky, silver, chain-mail style necklace from Baublebar(sold out, similar here
), pointed toe grey booties from Tibi, and a few of my everyday gold bangles (love mixing metals!)
Booties: Tibi (sold out, similar options linked below!) Petite Shopping Tote: Chanel
I’ve scouted a few similar options as far as moody fall dresses, the perfect black moto jacket (mine worn above is Mango from a few seasons ago), and pointed toe booties at varying price points!
Try out this look this week, while we can still bare our legs!
